West Bend Pressure Cooker Review.
The West Bend 6 Quart is smaller than some of the other pressure cookers available on the market many of which are 8 quart capacity. However, it is still enough capacity for smaller household and of course for people living alone to be of practical use to them. Retailing at around $111 this is a low to middle price range pressure cooker that has a good range of features.
This is a multi-function pressure cooker including functions for high heat, low heat, slower cooking, steaming and browning to name some of them. This makes it a very versatile pressure cooker that can handle a wide range of food types. For users that prefer a little more flexibility the settings are fully adjustable. You are not limited to the pre-set functions that come built into this West Bend pressure cooker.
This West Bend pressure cooker features a number of safety features. No less than seven according to the manufacturer. These include such features as a cool touch locking lid and a pressure release dial. If safety features are particularly important to you, for example if you have a young family or young children within the home, then this is definitely a good choice of pressure cooker for you.
A number of accessories are included with this pressure cooking including measuring cups, spoons and a tray to name but a few. However, it does seem a little odd to include a number of accessories that are optional and not include a power lead that is essential. That aside it is a nice added extra to the product and enables you to get started using right away and make full use of the variety of features that it offers.
This West Bend pressure cooker is made of part stainless steel construction. This does give it a quality feel and certainly makes it robust. However, some users may find it a little bit too heavy for their liking and so the use of stainless steel can be seen as a good and not so good aspect of the product.
The inner pot is removable from the base of this pressure cooker and this provides a number of benefits including easier cleaning after usage. Whilst many pressure cookers offer this feature it is true to say that not all of them do and the added convenience of a removal inner pot is not to be underestimated.
The pot is not particularly attractive and therefore you may not wish to serve directly from it if you have company but it is certainly fine to dish up directly from the pot in the company of family. Ideal if you have made a stew or other complete meals in the pressure cooker.
It comes with a one year warranty as standard which should be long enough to uncover any problems with your pressure cooker. However, some of these west bend pressure cookers have arrived without a power lead which is something you should be aware of just in case. Very few users have reported some leakage from the lid but this does not appear to be a commonplace issue with this particular west bend pressure cooker.
